EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PLAN

During 2006, the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) initiated an independent audit of Con Edison’s electric emergency response program. The Audit Report was released on October 24, 2007.

Con Edison viewed the Audit Report recommendations as an opportunity to standardize emergency management plans throughout the company; a catalyst to review, reorganize, and clarify the company’s emergency management organization; and a means to re-emphasize the company’s commitment to communicate effectively with all stakeholders during emergency events. Con Edison developed a comprehensive corporate emergency management strategy and master implementation plan. The entire plan may be viewed at www.conEd.com/documents/CEMS.pdf.
